New year and a new version of wmc-dedupe. This release enables support for WTV recordings made by Windows 8 Media Center. Many thanks to David Davies for spotting the issue and helping to resolve it. If you’re running Windows 7 Media Center then you don’t really need to update, but if you want it, then get it from here.

Dedicated AvantSlash website

I’m pleased to announce that (after some dedicated work by Han-Kwang) AvantSlash now has it’s own domain name and demonstration website. In the coming weeks I plan to start updating the pages here to point more to this site, but for now on head over to avantslash.org and check it out…

Outlook2Evernote 1.4 released

A new version of Outlook2Evernote is now available that (yet again) attempts to resolve the annoying MISSING_NOTE_TITLE error which sometimes appears during importing. This time it was caused by some characters not being written out correctly to the file. Many thanks to Noshir Contractor for his help in resolving this particularly difficult to find issue. You can download it from here.

Updated RSS feed

Apologies to the eleven of you that subscribe to my RSS feed (thank you!) but, following rumour and speculation of feedburner’s demise, I’ve updated the RSS URL to be http://blog.fourteenminutes.com/rss. The existing feedburner provided URL will still continue to work for the next 15 days, after which you’ll see a redirection notice for another 15 days before it goes dead.

wmc-dedupe 1.3 released

A small update to wmc-dedupe which fixes two bugs, one where files with the extension “dvr-ms” were incorrectly skipped over and another where the program would crash if you used the /D command line option and supplied an invalid drive or folder for TV recordings. Many thanks to Paul Lanzi for his help in identifying both of these. You can download the update from here.

Picture Mover 2.0 released

What started as a simple task to crowbar in some feedback during the moving process has morphed itself into a complete rewrite of the Picture Mover program and the unveiling of version 2.0.

New features include the ability to see what on earth is going on (via a handy window), separation of scanning pictures and moving them (which has seen a ten-fold increase in the speed), a pop-up confirmation before any files actually get moved and a small number of command line options to allow people to use the program in their own batch scripts. You can download the latest version from here.

Task From Email 1.1 released

An update to the Task From Email Outlook macro that provides support for adding the button to the main inbox (and selecting one or more emails to create tasks for) and a bug fix for people who don’t use English settings within Windows. In addition, the licence was changed to the GNU GPL and the documentation updated for Outlook 2012 (yes, it was quite an old piece of code!).

Many thanks to Brian Girton for the inbox idea and Gianpaolo Baglione for helping to resolve the non-English issue.

You can download it from here.

wmc-dedupe 1.2 released

A small update to wmc-dedupe which fixes a bug that meant it would think all recordings were duplicates when you have the Windows setting “hide extensions for known file types” enabled. Many thanks to Robert Clegg for his extensive help in tracking this one down. You can download the update from here.
